Tilly: The Snoopy Girl Who Picked Me
By Sandy A

Hi A&F family — this is Sandy.

Tilly rescued me in May 2020, just a few months after I lost my two furbabies a week apart. I was heartbroken and lost. I came to the Red Barn to meet Strudel, but before I could get across the room, this short, T-Rex-legged, long-bodied snoopy girl started following me around. She growled at every other dog who came near me — like, "back off, she's mine."

She had severe separation anxiety from being dumped, and from who knows what else she'd been through before we found each other. But she'd made her choice, and she was mine from that moment on.

Tilly crossed the Rainbow Bridge last September. I'm still very much grieving her. In the months since, I fostered a hospice rescue named Sterling for eight months — but I'm not ready yet to open my heart to another furbaby of my own.

I know Tilly was the hardest loss of my life. I'll never forget her sassy snoopy face, or how bossy she was the day she decided I belonged to her.

Love, Sandy ❤️‍🩹
